We lie to ourselves, possibly more than to anyone else. And, strangely enough, it’s easier to get away with. It’s so much more convenient to project an edited version of reality. No confrontation or accountability.
With the outside world, it’s an act of bravery to look someone in the eye and speak the unvarnished truth. With ourselves, it’s an act of salvation.
The quality of our outer lives is capped by the honesty of our inner dialogue.
