
No one has an alcohol problem. They have a problem for which alcohol is a temporary solution.
No one has a jealousy problem. They have deep-rooted insecurity that manifests itself as jealousy.
No one has an anger problem. They have an inability to process and manage the inferno of torment that blazes within them.
Whenever we try to address a symptom without getting to the real issue, it’s like swatting at flies instead of locating the source of the smell that’s drawing them in.
As Thich Nhat Hanh says, “The way out is in.”
But we have to be willing to look.
