Fun fact: Did you know some people knowingly sip coffee brewed from beans picked out of animal dung? They actually pay extra for it.
Apparently, some animals (like the Asian Palm Civet) naturally seek out the ripest coffee cherries to eat, and their digestive process breaks down the proteins that cause bitterness. The result is a smooth, rich, almost syrupy flavor profile. Sounds good⦠until you consider the source.
This bizarre process came to mind when I read this line from Deepak Chopra:
āAll problems contain the seeds of opportunity, and this awareness allows you to take the moment and transform it into a better situation.ā
Sometimes, the best insights, the most powerful lessons, our greatest triumphs come wrapped in shitty situations. Itās not the ideal source, but if we stick through the process, we can come out the other side better without bitterness.
āIf you do this,ā Chopra continues, āevery upsetting situation becomes an opportunity for the creation of something new and beautiful; every tormentor or tyrant becomes your teacher.ā
Itās unconventional, to be sure, but inside what most would consider waste, we can always find the seeds (or beans) of wisdom and opportunity.
Cheers.
